New video: How to paint watercolour bookmarks for beginners

Published 3 months ago • 1 min read

Hey there, Reader!

Do you love reading? I do!

When I'm not creating art, I'm often reading a good book because it's one of my favourite hobbies.

So I had an idea.

What if I combined my love for art and reading into one project?

Thus the concept for my newest watercolour tutorial was born.

This week, I'm teaching you a simple step-by-step process that'll help you create your very own watercolour bookmarks!

In my newest YouTube video titled Easy watercolour bookmarks for beginners: Watercolour and ink tutorial, I teach you how to:

  • Paint two colourful bookmarks using different colour palettes.
  • Apply a seamless variegated wash with smooth transitions and a spontaneous variegated wash with lots of texture.
  • Use pen and ink so that you can draw simple but lovely floral designs on each bookmark.

Yes, you read that correctly.

This video includes two fun and easy watercolour tutorials. What a treat!

By the time you're done watching the video, you'll know how to create two easy watercolour bookmarks that you can use in your everyday life.

And if reading isn't really your thing, you can gift the bookmarks to your family and friends. Isn't that nice?

So come join me in this week's video and let's paint together, Reader!

Talk to you again soon,

Your art instructor,

Miranda

But did you know that you can also paint with watercolour pencils? I enjoy working with water-soluble pencils because you can paint and draw with them. That means these pencils are very versatile. For instance, you can use them with water to create a painting. You can apply them as a dry medium so that they mimic coloured pencils. Or you...

Hey there, Reader! Let me share a quick story with you... When I first started painting with watercolours, I bought an affordable set of paints. There were 24 stunning colours, and I felt so excited because the palette seemed perfect for a beginner like me! Or so I thought... To my dismay, I realized that instead of having 24 stunning pigments to paint with, I actually had 24 chalky and opaque pigments to struggle with! The pigments were difficult to work with because they didn't layer very...
