How to make time for art even if you're busy

Published 3 months ago • 1 min read

Hey there, Reader!

These days, our lives are busier than ever.

It often seems difficult to make time for art because you have too many things to do.

You have responsibilities to deal with. Your to do list never seems to end.

And when you do have a bit of free time, you feel too exhausted to do anything fun. It's so frustrating!

So how exactly do you find time to make art?

Well, start by asking yourself this: "Is art important to me?"

If art is important to you, you'll find time to enjoy it. You just need the right organization and time management strategies to help you make time for art.

To help you with this endeavour, I'm sharing a blog post titled How to Make Time for Art (Busy Artist Guide). In it, I share 10 solid strategies to help you find time to make art, including:

  • Time management tips to help you prioritize time for art
  • Organization tips to help you plan, schedule, and set goals
  • Skills to help you create art more consistently and at a faster pace

Even if you only implement one or two of these strategies, you'll notice an increase in the amount of time that you'll have to make art.

By the time you’re done reading, you’ll realize that you actually have more time to make art than you had previously thought.

But that doesn't mean you have to make art every single day if that's not realistic for you.

For example, if you're busy and only able to make art a couple of times a week or for short periods of time, that's totally okay!

What matters is that you make time for art more often instead of just once in a while. How often is up to you.

After all, some practice is better than no practice, right?

The only way to get better at art is to practice your skills regularly. So find your own art rhythm and stick to it the best you can.

And even if you don't make art for a while, be gentle on yourself. Just try again.

Because sooner or later you'll develop a consistent art routine.

I'm always cheering you on, Reader!

Talk to you again soon,

Your art instructor,

Miranda

Hey there, Reader! I'm sure you're familiar with watercolour paints that come in pans and tubes. And maybe you've experimented with liquid watercolours, too. But did you know that you can also paint with watercolour pencils? I enjoy working with water-soluble pencils because you can paint and draw with them. That means these pencils are very versatile. For instance, you can use them with water to create a painting. You can apply them as a dry medium so that they mimic coloured pencils. Or you...

Hey there, Reader! Let me share a quick story with you... When I first started painting with watercolours, I bought an affordable set of paints. There were 24 stunning colours, and I felt so excited because the palette seemed perfect for a beginner like me! Or so I thought... To my dismay, I realized that instead of having 24 stunning pigments to paint with, I actually had 24 chalky and opaque pigments to struggle with! The pigments were difficult to work with because they didn't layer very...
