Published 3 months ago • 1 min read

Hey there, Reader!

Did you know that the ability to draw and sketch is the foundation of all artistic expertise?

It's true!

Without developing this basic skill, it becomes harder for you to progress in your art journey. This is true no matter which artistic medium you work with.

That being said, you don't need to become an expert at drawing to be an artist.

That's a relief, right?!

In fact, learning the basics of form and shape, light and shadow, and shading gives you a strong foundation upon which to build your artistic skillset.

So, if you mostly paint but don't have much drawing experience, don't worry. I have a solution!

Luckily for you, I've written a popular blog post titled How to Do Easy Sketching for Beginners (4 Awesome Tutorials) that helps you develop basic drawing skills.

In this article, I share 4 easy step-by-step sketching tutorials that are suitable for beginners. By following these tutorials, you’re able to:

  • Learn how to sketch different types of subject matter such as 3D shapes, apples, and landscapes.
  • Understand how to develop foundational drawing skills such as form and shape, light and shadow, shading, etc.
  • Implement strategies to help you develop your sketching skills more quickly and effortlessly.

Best of all, each of these sketching tutorials can be done in less than 30 minutes. How's that for time convenience?

By the time you’re done reading, you’ll know how to draw and shade basic 3D shapes, apples, leaves, and simple landscapes.

So take out your sketchbook and come sketch with me, Reader!

ACTION STEP: Check out the sketching tutorials and choose at least one that interests you. Then set aside 10 to 30 minutes to complete the exercise. Have fun sketching!

Talk to you again soon,

Your art instructor,

Miranda
