Feeling stuck? Here's how to overcome your art block

Published 7 months ago • 2 min read

Hey there, Reader!

Truth be told, I've been in a creative rut for a while. And unfortunately, I've been struggling to overcome art block.

For that reason, I haven't shared any new artwork, tutorials, or content these past two to three months.

But the truth is that I've recently started creating art again. In fact, I've created lots of it! I just haven't shared any of this new art online or on social media.

"So why haven't you been sharing your new art?" you might be wondering.

Well, the simple answer is that I wanted to spend some time making art for myself.

I gave myself permission to make art simply for the joy of being creative. So that I could play like a child and create art from the heart without any judgement or expectations.

Intentionally taking a break from pleasing algorithms and meeting social expectations has felt so incredibly liberating. And now I feel refreshed and recharged. My well of creativity is filling up once again!

You see, I am a multi-passionate artist at heart. I get bored creating one type of art over and over and over again.

And I realized that—although I love watercolours—I have been neglecting all the other art mediums that I love working with.

When I sit down to create art, I feel excited to embark on an artistic adventure wherein I explore different art mediums and styles including watercolour, coloured pencils, graphite, pen & ink, cartoons, sacred geometry, etc.

So I wanted to share this personal journey with you because it has inspired me to expand my art content in 2024 by incorporating more art topics. But don't worry, I'll still be publishing lots of watercolour content!

But you and I will discuss that in more detail in the near future, Reader. So stay tuned! 😉

Hey there, Reader! I'm sure you're familiar with watercolour paints that come in pans and tubes. And maybe you've experimented with liquid watercolours, too.
